Becoming Natasha

Becoming Natasha is a multi-media theatre piece about human trafficking in association with the Grassroots Coalition this June.
V-Day, the global movement to stop violence against women and girls, presents UNTIL THE VIOLENCE STOPS: NYC - a festival of theatre, comedy, spoken word, hip hop, and performance to bring the issue of violence against women front and center in the culture and the community. The Grassroots Coalition is a collaborative group of organizations who will bring anti-violence events directly to communities throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

Description of the Show:

Becoming Natasha, inspired by the book The Natashas by Victor Malarek, is the first production of it's kind to expose human trafficking. The piece utilizes videography, text, and media clips and stories of three victims to ask the question: How do we as a society contribute to and promote modern slavery? Read more

Reading Series

The Isadora Productions Reading Series takes place

once a month at Via Della Pace. The Reading Series gives writers a chance to hear their work in any stage of development. Our aim is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where artists and audience can meet, network, listen, and offer feedback when necessary to up and coming writers. The actors who participate in the Reading Series have a chance to be seen by directors, writers and producers. The Readings have featured over 50 creative writers including: Oscar Nominee Jeffrey O'Connor, Trista Baldwin, Poet/Slam Artists Yvonne O. D*R*E*S*S is inspired by the Feminine Mystique, Make Room for Daddy, the poetry of Sylvia Plath and the Technicolor Musicals of the 1950's. D*R*E*S*S is a satirical look at the role of women in 1950's America; Has anything really changed? D*R*E*S*S was presented during the American Living Room Festival at HERE in New York City in August 2000.
